There are other communities on LiveJournal for raw foodists, but I wanted one that took into consideration the needs/concerns (and palates) of pregnant and lactating women, babies/toddlers, children, and teens.
I am transitioning my diet and my children's diet from our current Standard American Diet to a raw food diet. This is quite a learning process with a lot of thoughts about what it means to our lives to implement these changes. I will use this community as a place to compile all the wonderful resources I have found on the internet, even opinions that are against raw food, as a way to be armed with knowledge. As I chronicle this journey, I invite others to do the same. Share recipes, tips, questions, concerns.
I am interested in vegan (or vegetarian) raw foods, not a paleolithic raw diet (RAF). If you don't know what I'm talking about, read more about both at this wiki entry. I would like the focus of this community to be on the raw vegan or vegetarian diet, but you don't have to be 100% raw or even 100% vegetarian to join. Please respect each individual's passions and path and the purpose of this community which is not to convert, but support.
